Before you compare prices
A cheaper listing is only a better deal if it is the plant you want. Check these three things.
- The right plant
- Match the botanical name and variety. Similar common names can mean different plants.
- Size & form
- Seeds, cuttings, bare-root or potted? Check the size and quantity too.
- The total cost
- Add shipping and tax. Check whether it’s in stock or a preorder.
Plant terms, in plain English
Bare-root: a plant sent without a pot or soil around its roots.
Potted: a plant growing in a container. Check its height as well as pot size.
Cutting: a piece of a plant. Check whether it already has roots or needs rooting.

Buying sassafras
Where is the cheapest place to buy sassafras?
The lowest tracked in-stock price is $97.90 at Nature Hills. A cheaper preorder starts at $49.95 at Willis Orchard; check that nursery for its delivery window. Sold-out sizes are excluded from these orderable prices. Shipping and tax are extra.
How much does sassafras cost?
Tracked listing prices range from $23 to $97.90 across 3 priced listings, including sold-out listings. Compare the variety, plant size and product form shown in each listing. A lower item price does not necessarily mean a lower delivered cost.
When is the best time to buy sassafras?
1 tracked nursery is accepting preorders. Preorder does not necessarily mean bare-root stock or spring delivery; read the listing's shipping details. Check the product form, delivery window and growing requirements before ordering.
Has the price of sassafras changed?
The line chart shows the lowest tracked orderable price at each nursery on recorded days, or its lowest sold-out price when none was orderable. Line styling distinguishes in-stock, preorder and sold-out readings. Older aggregate-only readings are labeled when availability was not recorded; gaps mean no reading. A line can change when the available size or variety changes.
Do you sell sassafras?
No. Story Thyme Farms sells botanical prints, not plants. Prices belong to third-party nurseries. We may earn a commission through a link; that does not change which listings appear or how they are ranked.
