About this collection

Ten sheep and six goats, drawn breed by breed. The valais blacknose, jacob sheep, lincoln longwool, and scottish blackface stand for the flock; the nubian, angora, and nigerian dwarf goats hold up the fold. Breed names run beneath each animal in script italic.

The warm white ground has the look of a county-fair record book and lets the fleece textures do the work; on deep black the pale fleeces come forward hard, the valais blacknose with its dark face most of all. Good in a nursery, an entryway, or the room where the spinning wheel lives.

If you spin or knit, begin with the shetland sheep and border leicester. The valais blacknose is the one people buy on looks alone.
